I'm with you Don Felipe. I'm scared that my local shops will be unable to open their doors after this as-of-now indefinite shelter in place order lifts. I never thought about the publishers themselves... I'm hoping the fans will put their money where their mouths are, when we are able that is. My local shops will be getting a fair amount from me when they open.

On a related note, do you happen to know what percentage the publishers get from Comixolgy purchases? This may be a way to put in some revenue flow for your favorite books during this time...

Yes, if my LCS will still exist when this is over I'll probably buy some extras, too. For instance, the new Deluxe Edition HC collecting all previous Firefly comics. I was waiting for this for years and then when it has just been solicited, that darn virus breaks. In the meantime we could still buy trades and hardcovers via Amazon or support through Patreon and via Kickstarter campaign.

Percentages -- something like this.......

Print - 45% retailers, 25% printing, slightly more than 15% to Diamond, the rest of the share which is slightly more than 10% goes to the publishers who still have to pay their creative teams. Retailers, of course, still have to sell their stuff. About 45% is their share if they actually sell the book for its cover price. My retailer also gives discounts meaning at the end of the day they may only get 40% of the cover price.

Digital - 35% comixology (Amazon), 30% Apple & Google, rest goes to the publisher and creative teams -- that is 35% for the creator if it's creator-owned stuff; or about 15-17.5% to Image Comics and the rest to the creative teams. DC & Marvel will certainly keep most of it but pay more in the first place. I don't know about Valiant though but even they may split their share with the creative teams.

Digital content is certainly cheaper then the printed copy as there are discounts on older books, special bundles, sales, and UNLIMITED (in the US).
