Blood Runners are ordinary people who Master Darque, a 19th Century necromancer, promises to grant their lives’ desires like success, money, and love. When their time is up and Darque commands them to die, the Blood Runners begin to shout incoherently, bleed from every orifice, and run until their bodies collapse and they die. Darque needs to sacrifice the bodies of twenty seven – three times three times three – to complete a powerful spell that would grant him godlike powers. His sister Sandria urges Jack Boniface to stop her brother.
