After Earth had been liberated from the occupation by the Malev Empire and things were back to normal, the former legendary robot fighter Magnus was elected as new President of the Terran Consortium, reuniting all of the planet's sectors and speaking with one voice. His first major political action was the passing of the Clain Act on March 18, 4004 A.D.
Therefore, it is my privilege as T.C. President to sign this, the Clane Act, into law. From this day forward, all robots, androids, and artificial intelligences shall be considered illegal and must be scrapped. Elimination of these mechanisms will be carried out by the Terran Consortium Troopers...as well as by...outside parties whit whom I'm negotiating. This legislation will ensure that humankind will never again bow to artificial lifeforms. Furthermore, labor-saving and though-assisting technology shall be limited to twenty-first century standards. We will build our future with human hands. 
The following days and weeks seemingly "all" robots and Freewills were hunted, killed, and destroyed all around the globe.
