Concrete Jungle: The Legend of the Black Lion #1 is a one-shot originally published by Acclaim Comics in April, 1998. It was written by Christopher Priest and was meant to be a six-part mini-series, however, the series was canceled before the first issue was shipped. The story is about corrupt politicians and cops in Brooklyn, New York City, and has a connection to the Priest's other Acclaim series Quantum and Woody (Volume 1) in shape of the legendary Black Lion.

Terry Smalls is a self-serving community activist who makes his living off of his famous black militant father, Wayne Smalls. When he accepts a gift from Antanku, a strange African cleric, he finds himself at the center of a bloody, violent power struggle, and becomes heir to a timeless African tribal legend.
