Dark Horse Comics is an independent comic book publisher that has shared several publication properties with Valiant. They worked with Valiant Comics in the 90's to produce several crossover books including characters from both companies. Valiant was later bought out by Acclaim Entertainment, who eventually went bankrupt and lost the rights to all their characters. Dark Horse picked up several of the old Gold Key Comics properties previously owned by Valiant. These included Magnus, Robot Fighter, Solar, Man of the Atom, and Turok, Dinosaur Hunter.
