Doctor Solar is a superhero and god-like being created by writer Paul S. Newman, editor Matt Murphy, and artist Bob Fujitani for Gold Key Comics. He first appeared in Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom #1 in October, 1962. Solar is a nuclear scientist working at a government nuclear research facility known as Atom Valley. During an accident he absorbs a massive amount of radiation ultimately turning him into the "Man of the Atom."
