What happens when Gilad, The Eternal Warrior, Earth's great protector finds himself facing battles on all fronts? An ancient foe has returned with the intention of setting the world ablaze and forcing the fist and steel away from home and the watch of his ward, the geomancer Tama. The teenager wants nothing more than spread her wings and learn how to fly, much to Gilad's displeasure.

Gilad Anni-Padda, the ETERNAL WARRIOR and the fist and steel of Earth, is one of the three immortal Anni-Padda brothers alongside Ivar the Timewalker and Aram aka Armstrong. Gilad is tasked with protecting each generation's GEOMANCER, an individual who communes with nature to help Earth not just survive but thrive. Gilad's triumphs and defeats throughout the centuries have led him from the depths of the Hellscape to clash with invaders from other worlds, but he is about to face a new threat that even his centuries of experience couldn't prepare him for.

Tama, the powerful GEOMANCER, has studied beside Gilad as her protector while she learns what it means to communicate with the Earth and accept the responsibility before her. With her trusted Book of the Geomancer, she has proven herself more than capable, even helping Gilad save the world at a young age. But to become the GEOMANCER she is meant to be; she must experience the world for herself and discover her strengths.

As Gilad becomes a father figure for Tama, a series of mysterious fires suddenly begin to appear more targeted than natural and they each suspect there is something more than natural disasters occurring. When Gilad questions whether an ancient fire deity is at work, he ventures off to ensure they are locked away while Tama focuses on her role as the GEOMANCER without living in Gilad's shadow and begins to find her way into the public eye. Together, the two will uncover secrets long buried and learn just how important their relationship is.

Eternal Warrior: Scorched Earth is Valiant Entertainment's first "original graphic novel", or a book-length comic story with no reprinted material.
Scorched Earth is notably also the company's first comic funded using the crowd-sourcing website Kickstarter. The Kickstarter raised $55,027 from 531 backers by its final day.
- Previous Valiant-related projects have been released on Kickstarter before, including the Tales from the Deadside album by A Sound of Thunder based on the Shadowman series, and the band's themed bonus material released alongside Rai (Volume 4) #1, although Scorched Earth is the first to be produced by Valiant, not just endorsed by them.
- The Kickstarter offered several exclusive versions of the graphic novel based on reward tier. The $35 tier offered an exclusive plus-sized (6 and 15/16" x 10 and 7/16") hardcover version of the story, and the $75 tier offered the same, with the addition of a golden logo and augmented reality functionality. Various supplementary rewards, including a digital version of the graphic novel and physical accessories like pins and stickers that use art from the story, were available at different tiers as well.
- After reaching the campaign's first stretch goal of $30,000, backers of $15 or more unlocked a bonus digital copy of the Eternal Warrior: Sword of the Wild TPB. Similarly, at the $50,000 stretch goal, backers at the same tier were provided the follow-up TPB, Eternal Warrior: Eternal Emperor.
- Digital copies were released to Kickstarter backers on March 30, 2023, however, the company went silent over the physical copies until September 2023 when information leaked from DMG's new licensee for Valiant comics, Alien Books, that they would be publishing a physical version by end of January 2024. A few days later, backers received an email informing them the Kickstarter version would be going to the printer by end of September and shipped in October 2023, using Shark Robot for fulfillment. DMG also apologized for being so quiet and all the delays. Alien Books also clarified their version would not be published before the Kickstarter edition will have already been distributed.
While it isn't explicitly mentioned in the story, the Scorch looks like another location in the Deadside, very similar to "Gilad's Afterlife" as depicted in Wrath of the Eternal Warrior.
