Gathering Plane

The Gathering Plane is a shared mind-scape of culture, expression, and worship that the Vine use to telepathically share knowledge and memories in real-time, regardless of the distance between the two minds. All Vine have the ability to access the Gathering, allowing them to operate as one collective consciousness as well as to speak to any other Vine in the universe. This allows them to coordinate military plans across distances that span light-years and keep in touch with plantings in their bid for power. Entering the Gathering requires letting your body go into a trance-like state that leaves it vulnerable to physical attack. Because of this vulnerability, the murder of a Vine while connected to the Collective is considered a sacrilegious act.

Using an X-O Armor, a bond-mate may force his/her way into the Collective, as when Aric of Dacia has accessed the Plane on multiple occasions and (once) even drew every other Armor in existence into the Collective to meet with them (before the X-O Army fought Dead Hand).

Using Shanhara, Aric has succeeded in forcing Vine minds to enter the Collective against their will (such as when he summoned the High Priest to warn him of Loam's imminent destruction). Vine minds can be forced into the collective against their will if enough pressure is applied by the summoning minds (such as when the founder of the Vine Planting Liberation Army was called in Imperium).

Vine can be banished from the Collective (such as when the Vine Priest was banished in X-O Manowar Vol. 3 #45ish or so).

Connecting to the Collective can be genetically engineered to away (such as with LV-99 in Imperium).
