The final sequence of this story where Bleeding Monk meets Toyo Harada is a retelling of events first seen at the very beginning of the debut issue of this series.^[1]
Mico Suayan's variant cover may have been inspired by the self-immolation of Thích Quảng Đức who, as a Buddhist monk, was persecuted by the South Vietnamese Government at the time. The real life picture was also used for Rage Against the Machine's debut album.
