Michiko Okubo is the first and only true love of Colin King, but her father, Senator Yusaku Okubo, forces Colin to stay away from his daughter because he feels that he is a dishonorable "gaijin" (engl. "outside person" / foreigner). Though Colin obeys the Senator’s wishes, he never forgets Michiko, and refuses to get emotionally involved with anyone else because of his devotion.
