Quote1 You see, the memory of the Psi-Lords is embedded in each and every sentient. It's where our very concept of "Gods" comes from. Born of the universe, the Psi-Lords felt entitled to it. Millennia ago, each lord and lady ruled whole galaxies of sentient worlds. Aesha. Sarathan. Graal. Ravenrok. Una. Vekter. Quote2
-- Scion[src]

The Psi-Lords are ancient, imprisoned gods, supposedly trapped slumbering inside the "vampire star" known as the Gyre. They are the origin of the concept of gods, and even if they don't know it, every living being is aware of them. [1][2]

Teaser History[]

The new Psi-Lords were teased for years before they would finally get their own series in the summer of 2019.

  1. In the foreshadowing Book of Death: The Fall of Bloodshot #1 (July, 2015) Bloodshot mentions "the battlefield was on one of the distant worlds Earth had colonized after the Psi-Lords returned."
  2. First official teaser is printed in Valiant: 4001 A.D. FCBD Special (May, 2016). It simply says "PSI-LORDS" in giant, black letters on white background (see below).
  3. In the "Pre-Order Edition" of X-O Manowar (Volume 4) #1 (March, 2017), there is a redacted script from writer Matt Kindt along with a sketch of a spaceship from artist Jonathan Arthur Ashley that the Imperial City on Gorin is apparently built around.
  4. In Valiant: X-O Manowar 2017 FCBD Special #1 (May, 2017), there is a teaser saying "the search begins this winter" along with a silhouette of a spaceship that looks very much like the spaceship in the aforementioned "Pre-Order Edition".
  5. In February 2019, Valiant Entertainment finally announced a new series and team called Psi-Lords. The new incarnation would be totally different from the original team and series.

Coincidentally, in Valiant Comics, the original Psi-Lords' spaceship also appeared before the team itself was introduced, however, it didn't take four years for the team to manifest itself.
