Raijin was created by Father as the first "Rai" and spirit guardian to protect New Japan, approximately 1000 years after New Japan had left Earth into orbit. Raijin also helped building large sectors of New Japan; e.g. Manhattan 21st Century Re-Creation Sector 2007.
History[]
Osamu was a young orphaned boy in New Japan, in the year 3001. Hearing a strange voice that no one else could hear, he secretly left his orphanage, and found a strange pond. This "pond" was actually the manifestation of New Japan's artificial guardian Father, who transformed Osamu into "Raijin", a robotic guardian of New Japan. This new figure helped guide New Japan into a bright future, helping the people embrace their past while still moving forward. Many people, however saw the young superhuman as a sign of Father's increased dictatorial control over the country. Luring Raijin into isolated sewers, they assaulted him and destroyed his body. After outliving his usefulness, Father had let the raddies flush him out of the floating country's airlocks. Hypocritically likening it to having lost his first child forcing the rogue A.I. to make another guardian, another Rai for the new age.[1]
