Rand Banion (Acclaim Comics)

Rand Banion is a Special Forces officer and decorated soldier chosen to be the first to wear and bond with the X-O Armor as part of the top secret Project X-O, however, he dies during the first mission.

History[]

Before joining Project X-O, Rand Banion served with Special Forces for four years and racked up a number of impressive achievements, like dealing with twelve Iraqi soldiers transporting biological weapons during the First Gulf War.

On his very first mission, Rand saved an entire town from destruction, but he died in the process.

The armor tries to anticipate Donovan's needs but sometimes doesn't do things in his best interest. Donovan realizes that the armor is trying to help but doesn't understand his needs. Sometimes, it makes adjustments without his knowledge. Donavan has the armor create a new interface to the armor's command control structure. To accomplish this, the armor created an artificial intelligence with Rand Banion's knowledge, memories, and personality, to which, only Donovan can see or hear. Eventually, Donovan discovers a database of personalities of all previous users who have joined with the artifact that can assist the wearer if needed.
