For almost two decades... I have thought about little but that young man's well-being. We have all put our trust on his callow shoulders. The violent outbursts, the prison record, the history of childhood trauma... all point to a possible intermittent explosive disorder. In short, Jack Boniface... is patently unfit to be Shadowman.   • This issue was bagged and shipped with the "Bleeding Cool Magazine #7" with a cover date of October 2013 thus even prior to Shadowman (Volume 4) #12. The story is a prelude to Shadowman (Volume 4) #13 though.
  • The issue also includes the first two pages of Shadowman (Volume 4) #13. The preview is titled "Rite of Separation Part I: Sniffing Glue" here. In issue #13 the title would be changed to "Fear, Blood, and Shadows Part I: Sniffing Glue".
