The Renegade was created when the psiot superhero Peter Stanchek attempted to erase his own memories as penance for his sins. Somehow, the violent, aggressive, impulsive part of his personality that he sought to suppress manifested as its own being, one that saw itself as the true Peter Stanchek.
Eventually, the true Peter Stanchek defeated the Renegade, and managed to grant him peace by removing both his memories and powers, giving him a life in Millenium Park, Chicago as Joe Stinger.

Powers and Abilities[]
After his defeat at the hands of the real Peter Stanchek, the Renegade is currently powerless. However, prior to this, he had a seemingly exact duplicate of the hero's powers.
- Psiot Abilities: As a duplicate of Pete Stanchek, the Renegade presumably had most, if not all, of his powers, although he only displayed a few.
- Power Activation: Peter Stanchek is one of the only psiots in the world capable of activating other psiots' powers, and The Renegade has displayed it as well.
- Power Interference: The Renegade can enhance, overcharge, and otherwise interfere with pre-existing psiot powers, such as when he forced Titan to remain trapped in one of his monster illusions.
- Telekinesis
- Mind Control
- Energy Projection
- Power Activation: Peter Stanchek is one of the only psiots in the world capable of activating other psiots' powers, and The Renegade has displayed it as well.

Notes[]
- The alias "Joe Stinger" references two different names related to Peter Stanchek's past. Joe Irons was a friend of Pete's who was murdered by Toyo Harada's Harbinger Foundation in order to try to manipulate him, while "Sting" was used as a codename for an earlier iteration of the hero, and used to describe one of his psychic attacks in the modern era.

Quotes[]
Peter Stanchek was the most powerful psiot on the planet. Capable of raising an army or destroying a starfleet. He'd seen Jupiter with his own eyes. The asteroids of the Kuiper Belt spun differently forever because, twice, he had crossed it with nothing but the power of his own mind. He was also a drug addict. And a coward. He was a monster with the power of a god. And you want the only good thing about him? He knew it.
