This comic book story was published in March, 1997, however it is preceded by Turok: The Empty Souls #1 – Acclaim Comics' first Turok publication – that has a cover date of April, 1997, but was already released in December, 1996. Oddly, the image on the back cover advertising the Turok comic book is taken from The Empty Souls.
"The Way of the Warrior" was only published inside the "Instruction Booklet" of the Collector's Edition of the video game Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (March, 1997 – N64 version).
The story is fourteen pages long plus the title/credits page and is written and illustrated by the same creative team of the Turok Quarterly series.
The cover is the front cover of the game's instruction booklet. There is no additional inside cover.
