- There are three major differences between this incarnation and the original Turok (Valiant Comics): 1) Joshua is a much younger and immature Turok, 2) he meets many of the previous and future Turok throughout his adventures, and 3) bionisaurs are replaced by dinosoids as the main threat and enemies.
- In Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion #1, Joshua's family is slightly retconned when Vivian and Alison are replaced with Danielle and Joseph as his siblings who serve as his successors.
