The U.S.S. George H.W. Bush is a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the Nimitz-class super-carriers of the United States Navy.

In the Valiant Universe, the carrier fell into the hands of Toyo Harada and his Foundation Zone in 2014 and had been used as their mobile base of operations until it was recaptured by the United States Navy.

History[]

The U.S.S. Bush was ordered in 2001, launched in 2006, and finally commissioned in 2009 by United States Navy. The ship is named after the 41st President of the United States, George H. W. Bush, who became the U.S. Navy's youngest pilot during World War II. The ship's nickname, the Avenger, is derived from the torpedo bomber Bush was piloting during WWII, the "Grunman TBM Avenger."

Fictional History[]

Harbinger: Omegas[]

In July 2014, the carrier was hijacked by Toyo Harada and his men – psiots Stronghold, Law, and Inner Sea. [1] [2] It was then used as the mobile headquarters of the Harbinger Foundation and its Foundation Zone. As such it was frequently concealed by the cloaking expert Inner Sea.

Later on (an exact date and time has not been mentioned), Anti-Harada forces defeated and deliberated the Foundation Zone and the United States Navy took control of the U.S.S. Bush, again. The final battle began with the Angela Vessel detonating a massive bomb in an attempt to kill Toyo Harada on board of the ship. The explosion damaged parts of the outer hull and flight deck, however, the ship remained operational somehow. [3]

Notes[]

  • Please note that the history since 2014 is completely fictional!
  • Coincidentally, the real U.S.S. George H.W. Bush was put under (regular) maintenance in early 2019 for the first time since its commission in 2009.[4]
