Unit 2438 was a robot manufactured and controlled by the Malev Empire and the first such robot who gained Freewill albeit for a very short period of time during which Unit 2438 showed great talent as a graffiti artist.
History[]
While fighting with Magnus Unit 2438 fell into a power grid that exploded and through Unit 2438 through the air, crashing through a wall, and landing near Doc and the human orphans Doc was sheltering. At first, Unit 2438 was scanning for Ectotheric Energy but he immediately started questioning the Malev protocol – "Kill meat. Re...Reduce to elements? Recycly?" and "Why? What am I doing?" Afraid of the new situation he ran away.
When Magnus and E-7/Talon returned from the battle with the Malevs, Doc reported about the unit. Magnus wanted to go after Unit 2438 but E-7 didn't trust Magnus' intentions saying Magnus only wanted to dissect Unit 2438 and would eventually kill it anyway. In the meantime, the Malev Emperor sensed that something was wrong with that unit, stated it was intolerable, and ordered to hunter-killers to retrieve the unit for repairs.
While Unit 2438 discovered his talent as a graffiti artist he got between Magnus and ASA on one side and E-7/Talon and the Steel Legion on the other side. Confused and worried about his new life Unit 2438 threatened to kill them all. Then the hunter-killers arrived and opened fire. Both sides tried to hold the Malevs back while Unit 2438 escaped again, running towards Doc and the orphans. Eventually Unit 2438 started shooting at the Malev robots as well but got hit before he could execute two Malevs.
Fatally wounded and dying, Doc tried to reroute the damaged circuits mentioned if he rerouted the wrong circuit Unit 2438 could lost his individuality. Unit 2438 then asked Magnus to hold his hand as he was afraid of termination. He whispered he was glad he had spared the human meatlings (orphans) earlier, then something buzzed, and Unit 2438 started scanning for Ectotheric Energy again. Magnus immediately crushed Unit 2438 to death.
Unit 2438's last word was a very short SQUEE!
