Vagabond is a member of the H.A.R.D. Corps combat unit working for Project Rising Spirit. Their mission is to hunt down and neutralize rogue psiots. Members of H.A.R.D. Corps are given neural implants that allow them to access a variety of psionic powers in the field. These implants can also be detonated by their handlers at any time. Prior to joining H.A.R.D. Corps he was a homeless alcoholic.

History[]

Vagabond spent most of his adult life intoxicated. Be it alcohol, weed, or anything in between, he spent his time having fun. Dropping out of high school, he married his high school sweetheart Elaine. Despite Elaine also enjoying the same kinds of "fun" as Vagabond, she managed to control herself, getting through high school, finding a successful job, and even managing to stay sober for her entire pregnancy with their child. Vagabond was a stay-at-home father, but couldn't stay sober long enough for Elaine to get home. His addiction came to a turning point when, after getting drunk at a party, Elaine had him lie down in the backseat and placed their young daughter in the shotgun. Elaine lost control of the car, and she and their daughter were killed in an instant. Vagabond survived thanks to how limp his drunken body was, but he didn't use this second chance at life. The death of his only loved ones only caused him to sink further and further into depression and alcoholism, until Project Rising Spirit found him to be compatible with the H.A.R.D. Corps implantations, and he was recruited to the Corps. [1]

After working on numerous missions with the Corps, Vagabond was killed in battle with the psiot anarchists known as Generation Zero. [2]

Quotes[]

Takes one to know one. Death wish gaydar, I guess.
-- Vagabond[src]
Shut your mouth, Vagabond, before I shut it for you. I've had enough of your half-baked devil's advocate garbage. We're all aware how little you value your own life. And that you can't even think of getting out of bed in the morning without reaching for a bottle... but if it was you who'd been killed instead of Genius, none of that would matter. No one on this bird would be arguing over the pathetic death-wish that has defined your life. All we'd be discussing is what we're gonna do when we find that thing that murdered a member of this team.
