Quotes[]
So the Armor has taught you our language. You are the first any of us has seen wear it. Do you know that, animal? Many -- too many -- have tried to bond with it, but none have survived. It is why the priests fawn over you. They believe the Armor has chosen you. That it somehow deems you worthy of it. I say the Armor is broken. It is a sham. After I've broken you, everyone will see it. I am coming for you, animal. You will have your fight. Soon.
- -- Commander Trill[src]
Dad says you never understood, Trill. You think you have some big, unforgivable thing to live down. Because you’re who took Dad from his home and made him a slave. Because you thought he was an animal and treated him like one. Dad says he hated you for it. For a long time, he wanted to cut a hell of a lot more from you than your eye. Then, one day, Dad understood... without you, he couldn’t have become him. If he’d lived his whole life out of the back of a wagon in the fifth century, he never would’ve bonded with the Armor. He wouldn’t have done any of the good things he did. Here on Earth or out in the universe. He wouldn’t have met Mom. There’d be no me. Dad stopped hating you a long time ago, Trill. He says... Thank you.
