Volo is a desendant of the Visigoths abducted by the Vine and brought to Loam as slaves. He acted as leader of his people until they were rescued and returned to Earth by Aric of Dacia, who declared himself their new King. Volo challenged Aric's leadership and the two men acted as rivals, but they would eventually grow to become friends.
