Donovan's Brain, by Donovan Wylie, Chapter 98.6: "They're ba-a-a-ck!" - Here's what I know. Several hundred thousand years ago, some aliens came to Earth to see how we were doing. These aliens served in their wanderings by armored drones -- guys who did all the actual work. One of these drones went berserk, killed some peaceful Neanderthals and got left behind when the aliens moved on. That armor has been here on Earth ever since, moving from hand to hand across centuries to become that wonder of wonders we know as X-O Manowar. Then it fell into my hands... though it wasn't doing me much good that day. The day they came back.
